This week, we've been speaking to Yeti Tool's Production Director David Jarvis who said that "SmartBench is such a unique CNC router within the marketplace".
Having joined the company at the start in 2018, David brought with him more than 20 years of logistics sector expertise in procurement, purchasing, production and shipping.
This has helped to guide and shape the production department, which is the heartbeat of the day-to-day operations within Yeti Tool.
"I was interested in Yeti Tool and the development of SmartBench from the very start and wanted to get involved in the business from the earliest stages," said David.
As the Production Director, David's daily role within Yeti Tool starts with a factory meeting, reviewing priorities and targets for the day.
He also gets involved with reviewing purchasing and production, as well as managing the processes. This also includes overseeing the overnight testing of all SmartBench CNC routers that are manufactured, which takes seven hours per machine.
"The production department also manages shipments to our global distributor network as well as shipping spare machine parts directly to end users," said David.
"We take care of consumable items such as brushes and cutters. Our customers rely on SmartBench for business use, so our input is vital."
The production department has developed its very own in-house system from scratch, improving the processes as new tech is introduced to each new SmartBench over time.
"Every assembly is thoroughly tested with significant data analysed," commented David.
"We have to ensure that each SmartBench is operating to its highest tolerances, with each CNC router being consistent."
One of the elements that keep Yeti Tool ahead of the competition is, according to David, the team spirit within the company.
"It is a non-corporate environment with no bureaucracy. Everyone has an equal say and we are able to implement changes very quickly," added David.
Yeti Tool's production department is currently shipping to 18 countries from the UK headquarters.
"I immediately saw the potential. SmartBench is such a unique CNC router within the marketplace. It has completely disrupted and shaken up the sector," concluded David.
