Most CNC router companies opt for a hard-sales approach but Yeti Tool adopts a different approach. One of the longest-standing members of the team weighs in.

Co-Head of Marketing, Liza Ryder Smith, was the fourth member of staff to join the company when it launched in 2018 and has been instrumental in producing outstanding visual content and promotional videos ever since.

"I started making promotional videos at first, as well as creating and managing the Yeti Tool social media channels," commented Liza.

"I now produce all video, images and visual content to do with SmartBench, which includes storyboard scripting and co-ordinating with technical and production teams, as well as content planning with Gemma my co-marketing colleague."

Having gained a degree in Film Production from the University in Cardiff (USW), Liza hadn't considered working in marketing, but after joining Yeti Tool to help them produce visual content she knew it was an amazing company to work for.

"There is a huge amount of passion, energy, knowledge and genuine commitment within every department at Yeti Tool. It is like a big family and everyone who works here really wants to be a part of manufacturing and producing SmartBench."

Yeti Tool has amassed a large base of happy and loyal customers since 2018, and a significant part of this comes down to how the CNC machine is marketed.

One of the most innovative marketing videos produced by Liza was 'CNC on a Summit' where members of the Yeti Tool Team took SmartBench up a mountain on foot.

They then cut a bespoke wood project with it in memory of Ian Adkins the inventor of SmartBench.

"When I first joined, I didn't know what a CNC was, so it has been a big learning curve. I like the fact that SmartBench is so accessible to use. Anybody with a smartphone can be doing their first cut on a SmartBench within ten minutes."
