How to run your Mafell SC0 - SC2 in Manual Mode

How to run your SC0 - SC2 in Manual Mode to test for a faulty speed control cable

If you have an SC0 - SC2 spindle you can run the spindle in manual mode which removes the chance of any communication issues through the speed control cable:

To test this disconnect the data cable from both ends, this is the smaller of the two cables exiting the top of the spindle.

How to “Manual” test

Make sure the data cable is DIS-CONNECTED.

This means that the speed is controlled by the thumbwheel on the top of the  spindle. The number 1-6 indicates the requested speed. Reference speeds are available on the side of the spindle or below.

Ensuring your spindle is clamped navigate to the CAD/CAM App then to the Move section. To test run your spindle press the “Spindle on” button (shown below in the red box)

Manual mode reference settings:

Speed wheel setting RPM (UK-EU) 230v RPM (USA) 110v
1 4000 10000
2 8200 13000
3 12400 16000
4 16600 19000
5 20800 22000
6 25000 25000
