Non-roundness

If you are having roundness issues while cutting a job file, look at the following diagrams to understand your job file symptoms and diagnose the problem.

If the issue persists, answer the following questions.

Is your cut circle looking elliptical, with the Y axis being shorter than expected?"

If you have programmed your job file to cut a circle but the true cut profile turns out to be missing the actual cut profile target in the Y axis.

 

A: Actual cut profile

B: True cut profile

If your SmartBench shows this symptom then you will need to: 

  • Service your Lower X Beam wheels and pinions, click here to learn how to set wheels and click here for pinion checks 

Is your circle looking elliptical, with the X axis being shorter than expected?

If you have programmed your job file to cut a circle but the true cut profile turns out to be missing the actual cut profile target in the X axis.

 

C: Actual cut profile

D: True cut profile

If your SmartBench shows this symptom then you will need to: 

  • Service your Z head wheels and pinion (which drive the X axis), click here to learn more about setting wheels and click here for pinion checks
