Check your AMB spindle speed magnet

How to check the speed magnet in your AMB spindle is in good condition

Rotor Removal

Use a T15 Torx driver to remove the front 3 screws.

Carefully insert the shaft of a screwdriver into the one of the air exhausts and push the screwdriver handle towards the collet. Be very careful not to snap any fan blades as you do this.

Pry this gap apart slowly, moving onto the next exhaust port after widening the gap a few millimetres

Magnet Condition

The magnet on the top of the rotor is used for speed sensing. This magnet must be secure and free from nicks and scratches.
