10. Failure prevention measures

How can I prevent this from happening again?

  • Ensure you have the latest possible software as software fixes have been put in place to increase the lifespan of your micro sd card

  • Follow the correct shut down procedure (the latest software will also warn against incorrect shutdowns)

  • Ensure you are using the correct micro sd card for longevity please refer to the article for sourcing the correct micro sd card 

  • Prevent any static buildup within your Smartbench as this can track through to the micro sd card damaging it. More information here on how to prevent static buildup within your Smartbench.

  • Avoid ever touching these contacts to prevent any dirt or oxidation from causing issues

  • Ensure you have removed the console extension loom if present (CS2054 - CS2416) as this is a known point of failure and slow console operation
