8. Fit the replacement micro SD card

How to replace the micro SD card in all consoles

You will need to scroll to the corresponding guide relevant to your console version detailed in (2. Console identification)

Make sure your replacement card is:

Standard Console Pi3 (CS0003 - CS2053)

Now that the SD card is replaced you can reassemble the console. Start by placing the case and back plate back over the screen and inserting the four bolts into their holes.

At this point you will need to pick the console up and gently squeeze the screen and back plate together to allow the bolts to engage.

Tighten the four bolts with your 2mm Hex Driver taking care not to over tighten them to avoid stripping the threads in the rear of the screen.

Insert the cable into the socket ensuring that it is going in straight and that it is in the correct orientation; if correct the retaining clip will be facing out towards the rear of the console.

Push the cable flat against the bottom of the housing and replace the strain relief clamp. Take care not to overtighten this as it is easy to strip the threads in the plastic housing.

Standard Console Pi4 with loom (CS2054 - CS2416)

Now that the loom has been removed the micro sd card will need to be put into the raspberry pi directly.

Plug this micro sd card directly into the PCB like the below.

Putting the console back together:

Now that the SD card is replaced you can reassemble the console. Start by placing the case and back plate back over the screen and inserting the four bolts into their holes.

At this point you will need to pick the console up and gently squeeze the screen and back plate together to allow the 4x bolts to engage

Tighten the four bolts with your 2mm Hex Driver taking care not to over tighten them to avoid stripping the threads in the rear of the screen.

Standard Console Pi4 no loom (CS2417 - CS2580)

Plug this replacement micro sd card directly into the PCB like the below.

Put the console back together.

Reinsert the replacement Micro SD Card

Reinstate the micro SD card cover

Console XL

Reinsert the replacement Micro SD Card

Reinstate the Console XL micro SD card cover
